The Continuum of Care, established in 2022, is a multisectoral response model designed to eliminate gender-based violence (GBV) in Jamaica through strategic partnerships and collaboration among government agencies, academia, private sector, civil society organizations, and international development partners. Adopting a survivor-centred, rights-based, and trauma-informed approach, the Continuum of Care ensures that GBV survivors have access to a coordinated network of high-quality services, including health care, psychosocial support, shelter, child protection, security, and access to justice. The model emphasizes holistic, interdisciplinary efforts guided by international principles, such as Leave No One Behind and Do No Harm, to provide seamless and comprehensive support to survivors.
